Genuine and Authentic London Transport Railways Quad Royal Station Map c.1947 by H.C.Beck.
Henry C Beck (Harry to his friends) was the original creator and designer of the London Tube map, the first sketch of which he produced in 1931.
These beautiful maps were displayed at stations along the London Underground and were often discarded whenever the diagram required being updated. As such, original examples are very scarce and are extremely sought after by vintage map collectors and railway enthusiasts alike.
The early post-war vintage London Tube map for sale is a lovely example of an iconic piece of London’s transport heritage which is instantly recognisable the world over. It is very similar to the 1949 map which Beck himself considered to be perhaps the best of all his versions of the famous diagram.
Further details regarding H.C.Beck and the beautiful maps he created can be found on the London Transport Museum’s website, a link to which is as follows: https://www.ltmuseum.co.uk/
The map for sale is a very rare survivor and would make a fantastic display item for the home or workplace.
