CWC G10 Navigator Wristwatch c.1981
The Cabot Watch Company (CWC) was established in 1972 and supplied watches to the British military and various government organisations.
The CWC Navigator was first produced in 1980 and was issued to all three branches of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for navigational purposes.
Interestingly, these watches were among the first quartz wristwatches supplied to the British military.
With the exception of the date window, the watch is essentially the same as the more commonly found CWC G10 General Service wristwatch and is powered by the same ESA 536.121 quartz movement.
The CWC Navigator wristwatches were issued in very small numbers in comparison to the “G10”. In 1981, the batch of serial numbers range from 655 to 962 and the serial number of the watch for sale is 686.
Some excellent further reading regarding these watches can be found via the excellent website, CWC Addict, a link to which is as follows: https://cwcaddict.com/navigator
Due to its considerable rarity and incredible overall condition, the watch for sale represents an excellent opportunity to purchase a wonderful new vintage British military timepiece.
